Core Responsibilities: 
  • Effectively communicate with customers to solve problems and develop solutions.
  • Perform layered process audits and maintain records of audit results. May also be involved in overseeing the layered process audit and tracking completion/findings data.
  • Conduct training of employees to assist in strengthening the quality culture in product containment, process control, gauge control, corrective action, gauge R&R, and SPC.
  • Participate in internal audits per the quality management system requirements.
  • Participation in Lean, 5-S, Zone Challenge and other continuous improvement initiatives at the division and segment level.
  • Assists with determining gauging requirements and ensures that gauge recalibration is performed on a timely basis.
  • Partner with the Operations team to evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, product design, fabrication, tooling, and quality assurance.
  • Leads product sampling process from order initiation through shipment and documentation.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering drawings, technical journals, procedures, and standards.
  • Supports PPAP process.
  • Responsible for all laboratory functions which includes supplier certifications, internal/external testing of product/wire/components.
  • Leads the timely disposition of items in the Quality Hold area by creating rework orders or scrap instructions within 48 hours of the product being placed in Quality Hold.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership in accordance with the Company Values and Code of Ethics.

Qualifications: 
  • 4+ years of quality experience within a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to help the division work towards AS9100 certification.
  • Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work with other business functional areas.
  • Effective communication skills, impeccable integrity including demonstrated ability to work well with and relate to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Core Tools.
  • Outstanding decision-making skills.  Grounds decisions in data but is comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Possesses a natural sense of urgency, competitiveness, and desire to win through people and teams. Results driven.
  • Ability to travel periodically for onsite customer visits and visits to supplier locations.
 
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as an internal auditor for the IATF 16949: 2016 standard.
  • Training and certification in dimensional calibration.
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
